Why Fort Macleod

Fort Macleod sits where Highway 2 meets Highway 3, about fifty kilometres west of Lethbridge — the crossroads of southern Alberta's two main corridors.

The town had 3,945 residents in 2025, up 3.8 per cent in a single year and 22 per cent across five, according to the Alberta Regional Dashboard. In 2025 Forma Steel and Structural Truss Systems opened an expanded manufacturing plant here, adding thirty-three permanent jobs to a town of under four thousand people.

Growth of that shape arrives before the housing does. The Garrison is fifty-one modern rental homes in a town that has been adding people faster than it has been adding places to live.

The building

Fifty-one homes across four storeys. A precast concrete envelope, cedar-clad balcony bays and steel railings — materials picked to look right in twenty years on a maintenance budget an owner can live with.

Balconies face the open ground to the south and west. Parking is at grade.

Where it stands

The development permit is approved, with first occupancy targeted for 2027.
